How to Start Your Child’s Piano Journey?

Our Top Piano Lesson Reviews

She is a dedicated piano teacher to both my children for the past 6 years. She is very good in cultivating their interest in music since the tender age of 3. Firm but patient, my children are definitely benefitting from her coaching not only in music but also in developing their other skills.

She is a person with strong determination, and and I admire her for that. I first knew her in Ballet and Music Co when I sent my eldest child for music lessons. I witnessed her developing from a shy new teacher to operating her own music school now. Her love for music and belief in every child are not affected by the commercial needs of the school I am sure she is able to continue to contribute to our local music industry, cultivating love for art and music especially in young learners.

Dear Teacher Tanya,

Thank you for your kind guidance and patience during this time, and also for the teaching and performing opportunities given to me.

1.5 years ago, I randomly walked into Viva, just because it was on the way home from work. I’m glad I did because I’ve learnt so much from you and developed a greater understanding of music and a greater sense of respect for it.

It has been a real joy learning from you and I do look forward to every lesson (it’s the highlight of my week after a long day’s work).

Thank you once again, really appreciate the efforts you put in for your students!

Ms Vlaeva has been my two children’s piano teacher for the past 4 years, and she has played a key role in driving their motivation and interest towards playing the musical instrument. Not only is she nurturing and patient in her tutoring, she is trained at the post-graduate level to be able to impart the correct techniques for both classical and contemporary pieces to my children. In addition, together with her teachers at Viva School of Music and Ballet, she makes the effort to organise performances and competition amongst the students within the school to maximise their exposure to performing their exam pieces in front of a live audience. In this way, my children gain the self-confidence required of them when they are tested by the examiners.
I am certain Ms Vlaeva, by her expertise and commitment, will be able to contribute positively to piano education in Singapore, and be part of the vibrant music scene that we hope to cultivate in the country.

Alan Pui Wee Ming

I am a vocationally trained dance student turned mom who loves dancing too much to give it up and also wishes to get back in shape after giving birth. I have taken adult group ballet classes with Ms Olga and decided to invest in private lessons with her because I was greatly impressed by the quality of her instruction and know that she can teach me at a level which meets the passion which I once had for dancing.

At my age, and with life commitments and family duties that limit my ability to pursue dance as I did before, I was astonished by breakthroughs in my dance technique. Seeing how well my body responded to her detailed instruction, which enabled me to do things which I thought were beyond my physical ability forever, I heartily recommend her as a teacher for the serious student who wants to learn the craft of dancing.

I wish that I had met her at the start of my training. How much further I would have been able to go with a younger more pliable body and more time to focus solely on developing and discovering my inclination for movement.

If you want to go further, choose a teacher with the experience and heart, the eye for detail and knowledge to impart. If you have a child whom you suspect might have a gift for movement, give her the benefit of the right place to start. .
